Rent A Toyota FAQ
No, this is not a lease. If you are renting for an extended period of time, you are required to resign a new rental contract every 30 days. No single vehicle can be rented for longer than 90 days at a time.
No, we do not offer additional insurance policies. All you will pay for is the rental, plus any applicable taxes and fees
You must be 21 years old to rent a vehicle from Ed Martin Toyota
Yes, spouces to the rental contract signer can drive the vehicle as if they signed the contract themselves
No, towing is prohibited in our rental vehicles
We have unlimited mileage on our rentals, out of respect for maintenence requirments, please let us know if you plan on driving a long distance so you don't have to stop for routine maintenence at another dealership
Please bring these items to the Rent a Toyota desk:
- valid drivers license
- current vehicle insurance policy
- credit or debit card
Yes, you need valid & current auto insurance
Your insurance will used first, refer to your insurance policy for the deductible. Our insurance will be used second, our deductible is $1,000
Yes, just not outside the US
No, we prohibit all rentals from leaving the United States. Additionally, we have telematic (GPS/cellular) tracking devices in each vehicle that will alert us if the vehicles leaves US borders
Since most vehicles are reserved every single day, if you are late retuning the vehicle, the next reservations may not get the vehicle they reserved for their trip. If you are late, we will charge you for one additional day + $50 late fee
Yes. We reserve the right to repossess the rental vehicle if contract terms are violated. We charge a minimum $500 repossession fee + $100 per hour for use of our time to ensuring the vehicle returns back to us, additionally any fees we can not collect will be submitted to our collections agency
Yes. We reserve the right to pull any public records on anyone choosing to rent from us. This would include (but not limited to) court records, social media content, and any available online search content
Yes. We reserve the right to deny renting based (but not limited to) these factors:
- Proximity to Ed Martin Toyota
- you must be an Indiana resident to rent from Ed Martin Toyota (if your driver’s license is out-of-state, we require two utility bills to prove our Indiana residency)
- Age
- you must be 21+ to rent from us
- Customer history to Ed Martin
- i.e. were we paid timely
- were previous rentals returned in good condition
- Public records
- we reserve the right to deny renting to anyone with these activities on their public record within 7 years:
- Murder and/or Attempted Murder
- Manslaughter (Involuntary and/or Voluntary)
- Homicide
- Battery
- Rape
- Kidnapping
- Criminal deviate conduct
- Child molesting
- Sexual misconduct with a minor
- Robbery as a Class A felony or a Class B felony
- Burglary as a Class A felony or a Class B felony
- Operating a vehicle while intoxicated
Yes. Our rentals have telematic (GPS/cellular) tracking devices to ensure the saftey of our assets. We also use the telematic communication moduals to notify us (but not limited to):
- the vehicles needs service
- when the vehicle has low fuel
- when the vehicle has been in a collision
- when the vehicle has passed any boundries we have set as alarming (i.e. outside the US)
Periodically, we sell our rental inventory to our used car dept. These vehicles will be sold as Toyota Certified Pre Owned (CPO) vehicles. Due to current lack of new-car availability, we are not planning on taking any vehicles out of the rental fleet until Spring of 2023
