To the XLE and XSE trims, Toyota introduces a hands-free power liftgate that senses your smart key and opens automatically when you kick your foot under the rear bumper.

Toyota engineered the 2023 Highlander to boost your next adventure with a new 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine for its gas-powered trims. This fine-tuned engine delivers 265 horsepower and 309 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission routes the engine's power to a standard front-wheel-drive or optional four-wheel-drive system. A fuel-efficient 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine combines with two electric motors to deliver 243 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque in the hybrid trims. This emission-reducing engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission.

Toyota equips the 2023 gas-powered Highlander to elevate your next road trip with a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds, helped by the increased torque on the new turbocharged engine. Thrust from the gas-powered engine adds muscle on steep hill climbs. The optional all-wheel drive improves handling and traction on wet roads, and the sport-tuned suspension on the XSE trim delivers unrestrained driving freedom on the open road.

The 2023 Toyota Highlander's interior exudes comfort and premium feels with leather seating surfaces, heated and ventilated front seats, and heated second-row seats on higher trims.
