Federal Hill Commons

This pretty park features a modern playground where kids can have fun swinging, climbing, and playing. The park has a pavilion for eating and public restrooms as well as a paved walking trail for recreation. Plenty of parking makes this a convenient stop.

Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve

There are 10 easy trails at this park totaling about 2.5 miles. During your hike, you’ll view grasslands, woods, and wetlands. You will have the opportunity to view wildlife as well. Bring your bike or your dog on a leash, and watch out for mud when the weather has been wet. Have a picnic lunch at the shelter.

Morse Park and Beach

This is a great place for appreciating the water and having some fun. There is a sandy beach with some swimming available as well as a dock where you can launch a small boat or other devices for recreation on the water. Little kids can hit the playground while older visitors play on the disc golf course. You can also spend time sitting by the shore and watching sailboats, paddleboards, and kayaks go by.

Roy G. Holland Memorial Park

This park covers an expansive 34 acres. It includes baseball fields and basketball courts where you can have a game with friends. You’ll also find a lovely wooded area with picnic tables for rest and a quick meal. The central feature of this park is the modern playground with accessible features and a large number of slides, swings, and climbing equipment.

Flat Fork Creek Park

One awesome feature of this park is a moderate mountain bike trail. There are also paved and unpaved walking trails for hiking or walking with your dog. Our favorite thing about this park is the sledding hill. Visit in winter for a fast and fun ride through the snow.

Forest Park

There are so many activities to enjoy at this park that you’ll need more than a day to try them all. Spend some time on the pipes at the skatepark and take a ride on the carousel. Challenge your family to a game of minigolf and let the kids run loose on the two playgrounds. You’ll also find sand for digging, an aquatic area, and even a transportation museum.
