Sometimes there is a hole in our lives that only a burrito can fill. That ooey-gooey, cheesy, beany goodness with a great kick of chili is just the ultimate comfort food. We have taken all the hard work out of it for you and found the best Mexican food you could hope for in Carmel, IN.
Where to Find the Best Mexican Food in Carmel, IN
Head Downtown for Hearty Mexican Eats
There are some great restaurants in the downtown area. On South Guilford Road, the Caliente Mexican Restaurant offers some really filling combo plates. The restaurant itself is clean and comfortable, and the staff are eager to please. Or you can try Verde – Flavours of Mexico. They are located on West Main Street and do amazing street tacos. It’s always busy and bustling there, which shows the quality!
Pick Up the Pace!
For a more upbeat eating experience, why not visit The Toros? They are located on Gray Road in the north of Carmel. Their Toros Nachos are the stuff of legend, and the Carne Asado is definitely one of the best in town too in this lively bar and restaurant. They offer great food for sit-down dining as well as for takeout.
Drive Out on the North Michigan Road
There is a small cluster of great restaurants just out of town on the Michigan Road. Try the “big as yo’ face” burritos at Chuy’s, or head to El Rodeo for a more intimate dining experience. El Rodeo features a consistently high standard of salsa and queso – a really important factor when finding quality Mexican food in our book!
Travel to the Pine Ridge Estates
The Riviera Maya Mexican Restaurant is located out on Crosspoint Boulevard. They offer a more traditional Mexican fare, which is fresh and authentic. It’s nice to be able to find something a little out of the ordinary on the menu. Plus you will love their endless basket of chips which is served with delicious salsa.
Or you could try Red Habenero out on East 96th Street. They have moved to a new location recently and so have been settling in, but they do a really good enchilada plate that is not to be missed.
A Special Mention
No write-up of finding Mexican food in Carmel would be complete without a mention of Bugambilias Mexican Cuisine. They have a slightly more unique menu compared to some other places, although all your traditional favorites are featured, too. We recommend the Arroz Con Pollo which is full of flavor.
You just need to know the right districts to head for when finding the most enticing Mexican fare in Carmel. There are some great eateries located downtown, but don’t pass on the outlying regions of the town. Look for the busy venues with big queues and smiling customers to guarantee you’re getting the best food and service.
