Why Lease the bZ Limited AWD?
Leasing suits a vehicle whose technology is still changing quickly. Charging standards are still settling and battery range keeps improving, so a lease lets you drive this generation of the technology and step into the next one when it arrives. It also keeps you in the vehicle during its earliest years, while Toyota’s factory coverage is still running. At the end of the term, what a used electric crossover is worth becomes our question to answer rather than yours. For a household adding its first EV, that makes leasing a low-pressure way to find out how home charging and an all-wheel-drive electric crossover fit your week.
Vehicle Features
Performance
Two AC synchronous motors draw from a 391-volt, 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery for 338 net horsepower, split 224 up front and 118 at the rear, and 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. All-wheel drive is standard, X-MODE layers its low-traction settings on top of the Eco, Normal and Snow drive modes, and ground clearance measures 8.1 inches. A MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension, both with stabilizer bars, sit under a reinforced unitized steel body. Braking is electronically controlled across ventilated 12.9-inch front and 12.5-inch rear discs, and regenerative braking can be set to four levels. An 11-kW onboard charger handles the plug at home.
Interior and Technology
The 14-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen runs six speakers and pairs wirelessly with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A top-mounted 7-inch multi-information display keeps the charge meter, power output, drive mode and trip data in the driver’s line of sight. Five seats are trimmed in SofTex, the front pair heated and ventilated and the rear seats heated, and the 60/40 split rear bench reclines and folds flat, with 27.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind it. The cabin also carries a dial-type shift knob, a center console with covered storage and ambient lighting front and rear. Outside are rain-sensing wipers with a de-icer function, heated power-folding mirrors, privacy glass and LED projector headlights.
Safety
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 comes standard, bundling a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Lane Tracing Assist, Automatic High Beams, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Road Sign Assist and Proactive Driving Assist. The Limited AWD also carries Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Front Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Safe Exit Alert, and Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking. The Panoramic View Monitor gives a 360-degree overhead view in low-speed driving and reverse, along with a Curb View, and Advanced Park handles the parking maneuver itself. Eight airbags are standard, along with the Star Safety System’s vehicle stability and traction control and a tire pressure monitor with individual tire readouts.
