2027 Toyota Camry: Hybrid Only, Five Grades, FWD or AWD
The 2027 Toyota Camry is a midsize sedan sold only as a hybrid, in five grades that each offer front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
It suits Central Indiana commuters and small families who want hybrid fuel economy in a sedan. Toyota estimates up to 51 mpg
combined, and 2027 model-year prices start at $29,700 MSRP at launch, excluding destination. Every price we quote for the 2027
Camry is Toyota's launch MSRP, and our new Camry inventory shows current pricing. For 2027 the Camry carries over almost unchanged, so
your real choices are the drivetrain, a comfort grade or a sport-styled one, and how much equipment you want.

Picking a 2027 Camry comes down to three decisions. The first is the drivetrain: on every grade, all-wheel drive adds
$1,525 to the launch price.
The second decision is personality. The LE and XLE are the comfort-led grades, with Toyota's standard suspension tuning.
The SE, Nightshade and XSE are the sport-styled grades, with sport-tuned shock absorbers and springs plus sportier
exterior pieces.
The third decision is how much equipment you want, and the launch prices step up in grade order. Moving from the LE to the
SE adds $2,500 at launch and brings the sport tuning and sportier looks. For another $1,000 at launch, the Nightshade
gives you the SE with a blacked-out look. The XLE, the better-equipped comfort-led grade, has bigger screens and more
standard features than the LE, and its launch price sits $1,700 above the Nightshade's and $2,700 above the SE's. At the
top, the XSE adds sporty tuning and styling to the XLE's comfort equipment, and its launch price is $1,200 more than the
XLE's.
These are Toyota's own fuel-economy estimates for every 2027 Camry; the EPA has not published 2027 Camry ratings yet.
Toyota's figures match the EPA ratings for the 2026 Camry.

The LE is the efficiency pick: the LE FWD has the highest combined estimate of any 2027 Camry, and adding AWD costs the LE
very little. On the SE, Nightshade or XLE, AWD trades a bit of city mileage for a bit of highway mileage, and the combined
estimate stays the same. The XSE AWD is the one version where the drivetrain costs real mileage, and it has the lowest
combined estimate of the ten.
Turned into gallons, Toyota's combined estimates show how far apart the versions are.

Hybrid Powertrain
Every 2027 Camry pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with the Toyota Hybrid System. The engine, the electric motors and
the system as a whole each have their own output figures.
Here is what Toyota's terms for the Camry's hybrid system mean:
Net horsepower is Toyota's rating for the engine and the electric motors working together, and it is the figure to use
when you compare the Camry's power.
ECVT means the Camry's transmission changes its ratio continuously under electronic control, with no fixed gears to
shift through.
Regenerative braking means the Camry's electronically controlled brakes let the hybrid system recover energy as you slow
down.
Drive Mode Select gives every Camry grade four modes: Sport, Eco, Normal and EV.
All-Wheel Drive
All-wheel drive is available on all five 2027 Camry grades. Toyota calls the system Electronic On-Demand AWD, and it adds
a rear electric motor to the front motor that every Camry has.
Here in Central Indiana, winters average a little more than two feet of snow, and freezing rain and freeze-thaw cycles
matter as much as the depth. That weather is a fair reason to weigh AWD, as long as you remember that no drivetrain makes
an icy road safe.

Each grade above the LE also adds its own touches:
The SE adds aluminum sport pedals, sport side rocker panels, a color-keyed rear spoiler and dual chrome exhaust tips.
The Nightshade shares the SE's mechanicals and blacks out the look, with black mirrors, door handles, badging and rear
spoiler, plus a gloss-black grille and rear sport diffuser.
The XLE adds white LED ambient lighting, acoustic front side glass, an auto-dimming mirror with HomeLink, adjustable
rear headrests, premium LED taillights and chrome-finished window trim.
The XSE keeps the XLE's comfort features and adds aluminum sport pedals, sport side rocker panels, a black rear spoiler
and dual chrome exhaust tips. The XSE is also the only Camry grade offered with two-tone paint, which pairs the body
color with a Midnight Black Metallic roof and exterior mirror caps.
The 2027 Camry offers these equipment packages and options:
The Convenience Package (LE, SE, Nightshade) adds an auto-dimming mirror with HomeLink and Smart Key on the front doors,
plus a power driver's seat on the LE.
The Cold Weather Package (LE, SE, Nightshade) adds heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
The Multimedia Upgrade Package (SE, Nightshade) adds the 12.3-in. touchscreen.
A power tilt/slide moonroof (LE, SE, Nightshade) is offered as its own option.
The Premium Package (XLE, XSE) adds the panoramic glass roof with a front power tilt/slide moonroof, 9-speaker JBL
Premium Audio and ventilated front seats. It also brings a 10-in. head-up display, rain-sensing wipers and memory for
the driver's seat and outside mirrors, plus Digital Key capability, which requires one of Toyota's connected services.
The Premium Plus Package (XLE, XSE) adds everything in the Premium Package plus seven extra driver aids, including
Panoramic View Monitor and Traffic Jam Assist.
Safety
Every 2027 Camry comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes:
Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
Lane Tracing Assist
Road Sign Assist
Automatic High Beams
Every 2027 Camry also has these safety features:
Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Safe Exit Alert

What's New for 2027
The 2027 Camry carries over the same five grades, hybrid powertrain, equipment, dimensions and factory warranty as the
2026 model, with four changes:
Price: every 2027 Camry's MSRP at launch is exactly $100 higher than the same 2026 version.
ToyotaCare: the included maintenance plan covers a shorter period than it did for 2026, and the 2027
terms are listed under Warranty.
The connected service that Digital Key requires: its trial now runs 5 years, longer than before.
A second connected service: on the XLE and XSE, its trial is now 3 months, shorter than before, while
the LE, SE and Nightshade need a subscription to use it.
Once a trial ends, each connected service needs a subscription, and all of them depend on the 4G network.
Warranty
All five 2027 Camry grades carry the same coverage, including separate warranties for the hybrid system and the hybrid
battery.

Which Camry Should You Choose
This is how we'd match the 2027 Camry grades to what you want most:
The best mileage for the money: the LE FWD, the 2027 Camry with the highest mileage estimate and the
lowest launch price.
AWD on a budget: the LE AWD is the lowest-priced AWD Camry at launch, and it gives up very little
mileage to the LE FWD.
A sportier drive: the SE is the lowest-priced sport-tuned Camry, and the Nightshade gives you the same
drive with the blacked-out look.
Comfort and tech: the XLE, the better-equipped of the two comfort-led grades and the first in the
lineup that can add the Premium and Premium Plus packages.
Sport styling with the extra driver aids: an XSE equipped with Premium Plus; choose FWD if mileage
matters most to you.
Very little changes for 2027: the five grades, hybrid powertrain, equipment, dimensions and factory warranty carry
over. Every version's MSRP at launch is $100 higher than the same 2026 version. ToyotaCare now covers a shorter
period, with factory-scheduled maintenance for 1 year or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first, plus 2 years of 24/7
Roadside Assistance. Two connected-service trials also changed: the connected service that Digital Key requires now
has a 5-year trial, and a second connected service now has a 3-month trial on the XLE and XSE. Each service needs a
subscription after its trial.
Toyota estimates the LE at 52 city/49 highway/51 combined with FWD and 50/49/50 with AWD. The SE, Nightshade and XLE
are estimated at 47/45/46 with FWD and 46/46/46 with AWD. The XSE is estimated at 47/45/46 with FWD and 43/43/43
with AWD. The EPA has not published 2027 Camry ratings yet.
Start with the LE for the best mileage and lowest launch price, or the SE for a sport-tuned drive. The Nightshade is
the SE with a blacked-out look, the XLE adds comfort and tech, and the XSE pairs that comfort with sporty styling.
Every grade offers FWD or AWD.
The 2027 Camry runs from $29,700 for the LE FWD to $37,625 for the XSE AWD, MSRP at launch (2027 model year),
excluding destination. For current offers, see the new
Toyota specials running now.
No. Every 2027 Camry is a hybrid, pairing a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with the Toyota Hybrid System for 225 net
horsepower with FWD or 232 with AWD.
Yes. All five grades offer Electronic On-Demand AWD, which adds a rear electric motor and costs $1,525 more at
launch than the same grade with FWD.
The 2027 Camry has a 5-star overall safety rating from NHTSA (2027 model year, FWD and AWD). Its frontal, side and
rollover ratings are each 5 stars overall, and the driver-side score within the frontal test is 4 stars.
No. The Camry continues for 2027 with the same five grades, and the Crown is a separate model in Toyota's current
lineup. You can see the new Toyota Crown if you'd like to compare the two.
