The Toyota Hybrid Lineup: Every Hybrid Car, SUV, Minivan and Truck

Toyota offers a hybrid in 15 models, from a 5-seat car to a minivan to a full-size pickup. Picking one comes down to the body style and drivetrain you need. All 15 offer all-wheel drive (AWD) or four-wheel drive (4WD) on at least some versions, so if you want either for Central Indiana winters, you can still go hybrid. Before you visit, see the new Toyota specials running now.

The table below lines up all 15 Toyota hybrids by body style, seating, drivetrain and combined mpg. The Grand Highlander appears twice, once for its Hybrid grades and once for its Hybrid MAX grades. FWD is front-wheel drive, and RWD is rear-wheel drive.

How to Choose a Toyota Hybrid

Four questions narrow Toyota's 15 hybrids down quickly.

  • How many seats do you need? If you need seven or eight, your choices among the 15 are the Grand Highlander Hybrid, Highlander Hybrid, Sienna and Sequoia. The other 11 seat five.
  • Do you want AWD or 4WD? Of the 15, the 4Runner, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Tacoma and Tundra offer 4WD. The other 10 offer AWD, and six of them also offer front-wheel drive.
  • How much does mpg matter? If fuel economy comes first, start with the Prius, Camry and Corolla Hybrid, then the small SUVs: the RAV4 Hybrid, Corolla Cross Hybrid and Crown Signia.
  • What's the job? If you tow or head off the pavement, start with the Tacoma and Tundra pickups and the 4Runner, Sequoia and Land Cruiser. Check the towing rating for the exact build before you decide.

Hybrid or Plug-In Hybrid

Hybrid: A hybrid combines a gas engine with one or more electric motors to get the most power and efficiency.

Plug-in hybrid: A plug-in hybrid pairs a gas engine with a larger battery that you charge from an outside source, to get the most efficiency and driving range.

Shopping for a Toyota Hybrid in Central Indiana

Here in Central Indiana, a normal winter brings about 25 inches of snow. Freezing rain, sleet and freeze-thaw cycles matter as much as how deep the snow gets. If our winters are why you want AWD or 4WD, make sure the hybrid you test-drive has it, since several Toyota hybrids also come with front-wheel or rear-wheel drive.

Once you've narrowed it to two or three, browse our new Toyota hybrid inventory and check the current Toyota specials. Then schedule a test drive at our Noblesville store. If you'd rather buy used, start with our used hybrid vehicles.
